WOMEN UNITED IN ACTION
Empowering Refugee Women through the Power of Storytelling, Advocacy, and Healing.
Women United in Action is a collective of resilient Congolese refugee women based in the Lobule Refugee Settlement in Koboko District, united by a shared purpose to uplift one another and make a difference through drama and storytelling. Our mission is to create a platform where women’s voices are heard, experiences are shared, and lives are transformed through the power of expression, cultural preservation, and advocacy
OUR JOUNEY
Our journey began with a desire to bring women together, to give them a voice and a platform for healing. Through dramatic performances, we not only tell our stories but also engage in advocacy and awareness, aiming to inspire change and foster understanding among the refugee and host communities. Each performance, workshop, and outreach activity is a step toward addressing critical issues, from women’s rights to cultural preservation
Our values of expression, empowerment, unity, advocacy, and healing form the foundation of our work. They guide us in creating a supportive, inclusive environment where each woman’s voice matters. By offering drama workshops, community outreach, and cultural programs, we aim to foster resilience, personal growth, and social change, making a meaningful difference in the lives of refugee women and the broader community.
Women United in Action is more than an organization; it is a movement of hope and transformation. We are committed to advocating for women’s rights, promoting cultural understanding, and building a community where refugee women are seen, heard, and valued. Join us as we continue to inspire change, one story at a time.
