About
Women United in Action is a group of Congolese refugee women dedicated to empowerment, storytelling, and advocacy. Based in the Lobule Refugee Settlement in Koboko District, we provide a space where refugee women can express themselves, share their experiences, and find strength and healing through drama and storytelling. We are united by a mission to uplift one another, preserve cultural heritage, and address social issues that affect our community.
Our Vision
We envision a world where refugee women are empowered, celebrated, and actively engaged in shaping their futures and communities. At Women United in Action, we believe that every story holds the power to inspire change, bridge cultural gaps, and foster healing.
Our Core Values
At the heart of Women United in Action are our values: expression, empowerment, unity, advocacy, and healing. These pillars guide our work as we nurture a supportive environment where women can embrace their identities, tell their stories, and address the social issues they face.
Our Activities and Impact
Through drama workshops, theatrical performances, community outreach, and cultural preservation, we work to empower women, raise awareness on social issues, and bring communities together. Our dramatic performances are a means to advocate for women’s rights, highlight cultural heritage, and foster understanding within both refugee and host communities. These activities not only uplift spirits but also serve as powerful tools for healing, personal growth, and social change.
